David W. Gordon

David is the son of golf architect William F. Gordon.
David was born in 1922. He was 19 years old at the start of America's entry into WWII. During the war, he served as a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Force. Following the war, he completed his education at Penn State University, receiving a B.S. degree in Agronomy. From 1947 to 1952 he worked in the field as a construction superintendent for his father's firm.
David became a partner in the Gordon firm in 1952 and was involved in all aspects of the business. He continued to maintain the practice after his father's death in 1974, retiring from active work in the mid 1980's.
In partnership with his father and on his own, he designed dozens of golf courses, primarily on the East Coast.
